Holy COW I can’t believe it has already been two weeks! These last two weeks have been difficult but also SO GREAT. I have learned so much about myself this transfer.
We did a TON of service these last two weeks. One really stands out in my mind, We did service for an old lady not even in our area. Her name is Sandy. She had a stroke a year ago and is simply not able to do much for herself. We weeded her front flowerbead for her. She said, ” Thank you so much girls, I am going to go cry now. (tears were already running down her face) It meant so much to her and made it mean that much more to us.
We have been able to teach all of our friends and they are all doing so well.We got James a big BOM!! Addy loves us so much and is really opening up to us, Shannon her mom is too! Her mom opening up to us is a really big deal…. She came outside and offered us ice cream from the ice cream truck! Along with friends we decided to pray about who we should call in our areabook. We called him and asked him if he would be interested in re-learning about the gospel. He responded, ” ummmm ya why not!!” WHAT!! He then told us when he is available! There is true power in prayer. Lastly we decided to set up a fun activity with a few of our unbaptized youth. We found out that most of them love volleyball. So, we had a super fun time just playing ball with these girls!! It’s so much fun to truly get to know these girls.
Sister Allred and I were feeling extra ambitious one day and prepared a Uke song! well THANK goodness it was a cute old couple because it was BADDDDD lol. They were so sweet and said you are always welcome to come practice here.
This week we had an amazing opportunity to go to the temple. I never realized how much of a refuge the temple really can be. I really needed the temple and the spirit that comes with it. I encourage you all to go if you haven’t been in awhile! We all need a good break from the everyday grind. Another spiritual high this week was zone council. We focused on the BOM. Each and every one of us shared our testimony on the BOM and this spirit was there. I know that the BOM is true and that it is the light we need right now. We all recommitted to the bom and I’d invite all of you to recommit too!
Lastsy and sadly, TRANSFERS. We received transfer news last night and I am being transferred. I have mixed emotions, I’m so excited to experience something new but I’m so sad to leave the people I love. It’s true when they say missionaries grow to love the people. Peggy called me crying today already! so special I was able to impact their lives though. I will be going to a tiny town on the edge of Idahocalled Parma! Can’t wait to tell you all about it!
