Hello from Kuna everybody! Hope you are all doing well! This week has sure had its ups and downs, but been a good week.
I CLEARLY saw God’s hand in my life a few times this week. We made a new friend this week. His name is James! Sister Schmidt and I actually met James a few weeks ago. We drove by and I saw a car in the driveway of someone we have been trying to visit. I felt so strongly we needed to go back after our appointment, so we did. As we were walking up to the house we noticed the same note we left was still on her door but I felt the same nudge to knock anyway. We had no success, she wasn’t there. As we were walking away her neighbor looked over this waist high fence and asked if we needed anything. We went over to him and explained who we are. He told us that he has seen missionaries before and would be Intrested in meeting with us! No way! This is the miracles of how we found James. Before we went back to his house this week we were blessed with a few extra minutes to do comp study. We wanted to read the BOM together. So we simply closed our eyes and opened to a random page. We studied that chapter together and had a very good discussion about it. When Sister Allred and I went back to teach him for the first time, he had lots of soul searching questions. He asked us a question that came from the exact chapter we randomly opened up to! NOT so random huh! I gave him the BOM I had in my bag and he committed to reading it! He also wants to meet with us again, so we will teach him some more this week!
INSPIRED FINDING MIRACLE! We had some extra time to devote to finding people to teach. We laid out all of our ward lists on the floor so we could see them all. Then we prayed. Sister Allred and I picked a few lists each and then we prayed again to be led to the names on the list that needed us. We chose 2 names each and we were off. She felt like we should visit an Allison. When we knocked on the door and I realized who it was the spirt overcame me. I remembered that Allison a few weeks ago about committed suicide. I then knew right then that we were led to her house for a reason, not even knowing her beforehand why. The second house we went to was the name that stood out to me. When we pulled up to the house I was in complete awe. I think my mouth was completely open lol. This apparently is a blended family and just so happened to be the same exact house we were hoping to visit. There is no counidience here!
Some fun things that happened this week: We had an amazing lesson with Linda where we left her stunned! That was cool.
I enjoyed feeling like a little mother hen at Sister Allreds dentist appointment. She experienced a cool miracle where the dentist was a member and did her appointment with no charge at all. How nice is that!
We had a fun opportunity to do some service for a friend this week. We helped them move a few hours 2 days in a row. They basically told us that The elders were all they needed. I don’t have enough muscle lol but I made myself useful I promise
Lastly we were able to attend Addys orchestra concert this week. I’m not going to lie it was LONG but so worth it. Afterward Addy came up to us and gave us a big hug. She expressed to us how happy she was to see us! While waiting for Addy her mom came and talked to us and told us how she was talking about us going all day. How special it was for us that she was so excited to see us. We love the opportunities we have to gain a stronger friendship with them. It was successful!
On Saturday we had a huge FSY event we were asked to help with. We were assigned to games to lead. Sister Allred and I were assigned to missionary tag in a sand volleyball court! What! Running in a sand court is hard. The youth also thought it was fun to pick on the missionaries… so we got our steps in for sure! I was in my full pross clothes, dress and nice shoes. I can’t believe us missionaries were running around in such nice clothes you should have seen how much sand I poured out of my shoes lol. Then we were able to attend their speakers with these youth. It was a very spiritual and fun experience. My favorite takeaway from this experience is this, ” God can not guide feel that are not moving.” I LOVE this! We have to keep moving, if we just take the steps forward in faith God will lead us! If we just stay where we are at we will never get anywhere. To all of you, keep going and God will lead you! It was a super cool experience to spend all day with youth who look up to us missionaries. So special 🙂
I was able to experience some huge miracles and spiritual highs this week. I also experienced some super hard news this week. Some of my friends I have been working with have made some decisions that don’t involve us 🙁 My heart was crushed especially because they have come so far. I felt so defeated at some points this week, but after I prayed I felt better. There is true power in prayer! I know that God really does lift us up in our struggles and our low points in life. Give it to God and it will all be okay. I know this to be true, I have seen this in my own life. I love you all! Have a good week!
