This week has been up and down. It finally set in that this was SIster Schmidt and is last week together. I think it has been really hard for her to gather her final thoughts and emotions. I have also been nervous about getting a new companion and maybe getting transferred. Besides all of these rollercoasters of emotions we have had a very successful and meaningful week! I am so grateful for a good last week.
SO CUTE! I had an amazing opportunity to meet this blended family. They have their own little zoo full of little exautic animals such as chinchillas, fish, Spiders, cats, snakes and like 6 dogs, They were the coolest family ever. They were so supportive of each other in all of their doings. The siblings were so kind to each other and seriously would cheer for their siblings. i Love this family so much and it made me feel so welcome and at home. I sure love my family. We got to hold these adorable little puppies the WHOLE lesson. I was in heaven!!!
EWW! We did some survival for this family pulling weeds and helping them prepare to plant grass in their backyard. While I was pulling some weeds I saw some huge spiders. I kid you not SO BIG! I really love the opportunity to serve others and I always feel so good about it. I do wish I could do it more to be honest.
Our mission president has asked us to do more online finding and to take it very seriously. The world we live in is technology. It’s that simple! We have been working on a video this whole transfer and included all ages and people. We had a lot of fun putting it together and realized how much joy can be found in this darkened world. We also have been working on a uke video. We had a ton of fun making that one too! Go watch it if you haven’t seen it 🙂 There are so many ways to spread the gospel and I have enjoyed being creative. I encourage you to look for fun and creative ways to share the gospel and don’t hesitate to do so.
LESSONS! We had a more difficult lesson with Linda this week. She is an amazing sweet lady but we cant tell if she is really learning to actually learn. She definitely has tested my ability and knowledge of the gospel. I have to be on my toes when I’m with her! It has been a cool experience to actually be able to answer her questions. We also had an amazing experience teaching Addy. It was the first time we actually had a sit down lesson with her and made it into her house! That in itself was a huge miracle. We also SET A DATE FOR HER! She is going to be baptized soon. She wants it so bad! In another lesson, I played my uke for the first time singing for a grandma and her granddaughter. She smiled so wide and even started dancing in the living room. It made my whole day! We got to teach another great-to-be 8. Those eight year old kids have strong testimony and we enjoy teaching that age about baptism.
Best moments this week: TEMPLE TRIP! Yes it’s crazy but we had another temple trip this week. It was a lot of fun. In one of the sealing rooms an old grandma asked me if one of the elders was my husband lol. That was pretty funny but all four of us missionaries were sitting next to each other. POLICE!? We decided to attend the 7th wards youth activity this week. It was in Bishop Tanner’s farmyard. it’s always my favorite to be on his farm! They were ding ax throwing and a bonfire. He had all of the dried weeds and shrubs all ranked together in this huge pile to burn to the fire. Long story short the fire was big, safe but big. Someone driving down the road called it in and a police officer pulled up. not even ten seconds later we heard the fire truck sirens. We all busted up and the youth went crazy! 6 firemen jumped out of the truck in full suits. They said it was safe but still ended up pulling out the hose to wet the surrounding areas. What a youth activity to remember!
We had a few amazing meals this week. Elder Stevans mom lives very close and offered to take the sisters out to lunch. We went to the black bear dinner and it was so GOOD! It was so fun to meet his little sister Gracie and to thank her for all she does for our district. She is one of the most giving ladies I have ever met. We also got to go into Boise to meet Sister Schmidt’s original mission presidents family. It was super cool! The world is so small!
Lastly, WE GOT TRANSFER NEWS! I get to stay in KUNA! I am so grateful! I will be the Sr. comp and I will meet my new comp, Sister Allred on Tuesday. It’s super cool though because I know Sister Allred a tiny bit. We left the MTC and flew here to the mission together! I can’t wait to meet her and tell you all about it. Hope you all are doing well. 🙂 Love you so much!
