Hello everyone! This week has been a trying week for me. However, I am learing so much each and everyday and still loving being a missionary. This week has been another rollercoaster, up and down and all around. I’m so grateful I’m still seeing God’s hand in my life.
My oldies! I know you all know how much I love my old friends. Well this week we had a few extra hours that were not full. I felt very strongly that an old lady named Marge needed a visit. Marge is from Gremany and experienced the war as a teenager. I don’t know why Marge needed a visit but I’m so grateful we had the chance to go and talk to her. We also visited a ton of members this week. Member visits are super fun!
The POWER of PRAYER. I experienced a miracle while teaching our friend James this week. Last week James asked us to pray for his friend who is in the hospital and I got to pray. This week while teaching him the restoration we talked about the power in prayer. Just like Joseph Smith, if we pray in faith will recieve our answer. Before we even finished our thought James spoke up and said I know prayer is real! “Last week you girls prayed for my friend and that day he called me for the first time in months with good news.” So cool! After we finished a very spirit filled Restoration lesson we invited James to pray. He said, ” I don’t need to pray about it. Every time you two girls come over I can feel it. I know what you are teaching me is true!” The spirit in that moment was extremely strong and we all had tears in our eyes. I know there is power in prayer and that God does answer our prayers! I can’t wait to keep teaching him. We feel so good about him!
Addy! We had a lot of fun at Addys house this week. We have been praying a lot for Addy and her mom. It’s a difficult situation and it’s sad to see. We decided to just drop by one day. As we pulled up to the driveway Addy and her friend Nika were in the driveway. We just payed and talked with them in the driveway. We got to hold their bearded dragons and genie pigs. We gave Addy a comic BOM and even her little sister Emmie wanted to read it. They both were super excited to come to church, which would have been huge! Sadly they didn’t come… but at least we were able to spend that time with those girls and come up with a plan to teach her.
Some fun moments this week! We got to attend the high schools chior concert! It was so much fun and was more like a showchior. They did musical songs that I love! It was so nice to see how excited our youth were to see us there for them. We got to serve a few hours in the clothing closet this week, that’s always fun! Lastly, we had a cool experience at young woman’s. We helped a girl named Sarah who was really struggling to sew her treck skirt. She really connected with us. It’s so special for me to recognize the people in my wards and for them to recognize me… especially after these moments.
DC and LUNCH! Another fun moment this week was our every week missionary meeting. District council was a lot of fun and was a very spiritual moment for us. We then all went out to lunch at Jerzy Mike’s. This guy walked in after us and payed for all of us! It was around 80 dollars. It was so crazy! People are so generous and kind! What a good example to all of us.
We had some more opportunities to teach Peggy and Linda this week. Both of these sweet lady’s are kinda stuck in their progression. It’s sad to see but I feel it’s supposed to be there in their plan so they can grow. Please pray for them! We love them!
Tender mercies are real! Like I mentioned above this week has been a very difficult week. My sweet companion is having a hard time which makes it hard for me too. I am learing a lot and am havjng to excsrcize more faith. I have to have faith that I am where I’m supposed to be and with who I’m supposed to be with. Sister Allred had a baptism in Nyssa Oregon on Saturday that she wanted to attend. It was hard for me to say the least. I felt so alone with the countless things that just kept happening. Attending the baptism was awesome but there was just so much behind the scenes that was hard. I PRAYED so hard this day for strength and for peace. When the baptism ended Sister Allred went around and talked to everyone while I was talking to another missionary who just got here 2 weeks ago. Then her companion Sister Knepp came over and we talked for 30 minutes or so. SHE was my Tender Mercy. I needed her! She said are you okay? I explained that it’s been a hard adjustment and she knew exactly what to say. God put her in my path at my lowest point this week. She is the cutest Texas cowgirl you will ever see! And she brought so much peace and hope to me. God knows us and is aware of us. I love you all so much!
