I can not believe that I have been a missionary for this long already. Time goes by so fast! This week has been so fun. I finished home MTC on Monday and then began gathering the last minute things to go to MTC in person. I enjoyed every minute of this week. I had Tuesday to be with my family because it was a travel day but I didn’t need it to travel, i’m so grateful for the extra day I had with them. I am so grateful for their help getting me packed. I told my mom that because I had all of my stuff set out it would only take an hour or so to pack….. boy was I wrong haha. Between weighing and making them organized it took way more than one hour. BUT I got them packed and it worked out perfectly. From day one I have been most worried about packing and there was nothing to worry about.
My sweet family took me to The Black Bear Dinner for a delicious breakfast meal before I had to say my final goodbyes. We then went to the Provo Temple to take some pictures and say our final goodbyes. I haven’t been feeling sad about this new adventure because I am so ready, but I have to admit those final hugs were sad. I was doing really well until my mom had to start crying lol. It was a special and memorable time for me. I love all of them! We pulled into the MTC and I got booted out 😉 It was a very quick drop off but that’s okay, I wasn’t scared at all! The MTC is amazing! The people here are so kind and so loving. I got directed to my room and I got to mee Sister Bevens. I was definitely most excited about that!! She is so perfect for me and is willing to put in the work which is a good thing. I want to do the best I can to do what is expected of me. Day one was crazy. I unpacked and settled in and off to the devotionals we went to. I loved a devotional titled Character of Christ. This was the most touching experience of the MTC so far. My companion and I were both in tears. I know the spirit was with all of us new missionaries. One of my favorite lines was this, ” God WILL tend you because you are tending his people. “I loved it so much and I have a testimony that God knows each and every one of us. He is so aware of the struggles and the successes we are having and he knows us as an individual. He will watch you! reach out to him. I have learned the power of the spirit is so strong and It is special.
I love the MTC so far! I’m grateful to be here in person and be with my district. One small tender mercy this week for me is the room situation. My companion and I actually have our own room and it has been so wonderful to have that extra space and room. It’s been nice to have quiet time when it’s needed and time to get to know each other better. I’m heading off to go play some Volleyball with my district. Love you all!
