Hello everyone! This week has been a long week! Holy COW so much has happened!
To kick of the week, we had our last zone conference with President and Sister Nygaard. It was a very special zone conference. President said, “When I think of my mission, I won’t think of it without you. You missionaries made my mission great.” He then sang us the sweetest song and bore a very powerful testimony on the BOM. President Nyguaard is an amazing mission president and I’m sad to see him go. I’m grateful I at least got to be with him for a small part of my mission. This week I will meet my new mission president, President Maxwell, and his family. I’m super excited for that! We will be singing a song as a mission to welcome them in. So far its been a powerful experience for me(even though I don’t sing lol).
My testimony was greatly strengthened this week during a friend appointment. Tasheena was very hurt by the church many years ago. Her dad committed suicide about five years ago and she has struggled with grief and guilt ever since. Sister Turley and I prayed for a powerful visit and did a well thought out comp study in preparation. I began the visit with a brief quote, I looked up to see her crying uncontrollably. The spirit that rushed over me was very powerful. I knew exactly what I needed to say to her. She in sincere gratitude gave us HUGE hugs and invited back to her home. We have her a BOM and will begin our second lesson tonight. I know that this church is true even when the people in the church are not perfect. People change but the doctrine doesn’t. Don’t let people get in the way of your personal conversion. The spirit gave me the words she needed to hear that night. It wasn’t me who was speaking, it was the Holy Ghost. Sister Turley afterward said she felt the spirit so strongly as I talked to her. So special 🙂
Another spiritual high this week was the Day family. They are a part member family and have a few daughters that are unbaptized. Walking up to their house we thought it was going to be a train wreck. They were hauling hay! When they were all finally gathered we had a short lesson. The spirit was there. We bore testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the BOM. We found out the daughter and her friend that was joining them didn’t have a copy. They were very excited to get their own 🙂 The daughters friend is excited to read it. God’s timing is so real! What are the odds she was at their house when we were there for a lesson? We are excited to potentially begin teaching them this week.
HEATHER! I’m so excited to help Heather into the waters of baptism in 7 days. She is so ready 🙂 She is counting down the days! She is also inviting everyone and their 3 dogs she is so excited. It’s been a special experience for us to see the light of Christ shine through her and change her.
Some special visits we made this week include Grandma Sue! Boy she is not open or ready to accept the gospel but boy was she sweet to us. She prayed for us they way she prays and she expressed how proud of us she was. It was so cool to see that Christ truly does connect people.
Lastly! I’M IN A TRIO! Thursday afternoon President asked us to give him a call. He said, ” I need to make some changes and it involves your companionship.” On Saturday I accidentally put in the wrong address and we drove to Nampa…. well we were supposed to end up in Middleton after that embarrassing moment I met Sister Vaea! She is the cutest girl ever. She completed Sister Turley and I for sure. We don’t know why she was emergency transfered, but we know it was meant to be. I have had so much fun the last 2 days! It’s like we get to have a sleepover every night. Sister Turley and I also set up some big surprises to help her celebrate her 21st birthday yesterday.
I love you all and hope you have the best week ever.
