Happy fourth of July everyone! This week has been a CRAZY week. So much has happened!
To start off this email I would like to share a testimony building experience. This last week has had some very high highs and some very low lows. As many of you know we were put in a trio last week. Its been amazing but also extremely difficult. It’s hard to find the balance sometimes. I was feeling very alone and that I was disliked by one of my companions. I was feeling like there was unwanted contention in the air. I didn’t know why or how to handle it. I prayed for guidance and for love. Last week we got a call from the mission office saying that Sister Turley would be going to all the zone conferences so she could play the flute. She was in a different trio for Thursday and part of Friday. That left Sister Vaea and I continuing the work in Parma. When it came time to drop Sister Turley off I was excited and nervous for the one on one time. I was also designated driver for the first time! I had to drive out of Nampa… ahhh! It took about 5 minutes for me to realize this was the answer to my prayer! Sister Turley and I know each other, Sister Vaea and Sister Turley know each other… but I didn’t really know Sister Vaea. Right from the get go we clicked! I haven’t had that much fun on my mission since Sister Schmidt. I felt like it was where I was ment to be. We were able to talk about our trio and what we can do better. I figured out Sister Vaea was feeling the same way I was. I was not alone! This day was the best day this week and the most needed day this transfer. God was so aware of my needs and put me in a place to feel loved and needed. God really does answer our prayers!
While together Sister Vaea and I worked so hard and we saw a HUGE miracle! It was the last hour of the day and I felt we should head to the church to finish up. While driving down the road Sister Vaea said, “Stop”. Without a second thought I pulled over. She explained to me that she had a dream about coming down the exact hill we were on and that we needed to go to a house nearby. I turned around and we drove to the first house but it didn’t feel right. I suggested that we drive around the block to see the neighborhood and then we pray about it. That’s exactly what we did. When we prayed about it I got this VERY strong impression that it was the blue house we were sitting in front of. Sister Vaea also said it’s this house. We usually like to plan a mini scripture or something to say but this time we said let the spirit guide. We knocked and a young girl named Sophie opened the door. We said, ” We don’t know why wear are here but we felt we were supposed to be here.” We explained who we are and her eyes lit up! She said her friend is LDS and she has a lot of questions about our church. As we were about to leave she asked, ” Do you have a BOM, can I have a one?” Sister Vaea and I about peed ourselves! No one ever asks us for one! I was able to share my testimony on the BOM as I gave it to her. I couldn’t believe that just happened to us! 100% spirit led. We were just driving down the road and we were led to Sophie! It was a very powerful experience.
NEW MISSION PRESIDENT! This week we finally got to meet our new mission president and his family. President and Sister Maxwell are from Pennsylvania and have the sweetest family! They brought 3 of their children with them. One leaves on a mission this week! The other two are in middle and high school. What a sacrifice for this family. I couldn’t imagine! I was able to connect with Sister Maxwell right from the beginning, that was special. I’m super excited for them to be appart of this mission. They are amazing.
We got to bathe puppies for a service project! What a cool and unique project. By the end we were completely soaked, but it was so much fun! Service has been one of the best ways for us to spread the gospel.
Lastly, HEATHERS BAPTISM! It has been a great joy to find, teach and baptize Heather. We found her my 2nd day in Parma and she was baptized yesterday at 4pm Heather came from a very inactive part member family. In the process of teaching Heather we were able to reactivate her family and express to them the importance of church! The baptism was special for me because Heather asked me to speak at it! I talked on baptism and the Holy Ghost. Not my best talk but I’m happy I could be apart of it. My favorite part of the baptism was when I looked over to her parents and saw them in tears. They felt the spirit very strong! Or when Heather came out of the font and just smiled.
One night we were all laying in bed and Sister Vaea said,” Goodnight soul sisters!” I asked, ” Why do you call us soul sisters?” She responded, ” Because we are Sisters Saving Souls” ♡♡♡
Love you all!
