God is a God of miracles! Hello everyone. Sorry sorry I missed you last week. My p-day got changed for a much needed temple trip!
The last two weeks have been the BEST! I am so grateful to be a missionary, I wouldn’t change it for the world. I won’t lie and say it’s always easy and that I’m not exhausted but it’s so worth it.
In the last two weeks Sister Jackson and I have been led to the people God has been preparing for us. We found 7 people and 7 potential new people! That is a huge miracle in itself. Thank you all for the prayers, they are helping us find people. “Nothing in missionary work happens until you find someone to teach.” – Preach My Gospel. I’d like to briefly tell you about a few of the miracles in finding these people.
Megan! We talked to Megan’s sister a few weeks ago walking her dog. She said we could go visit Megan another time. We tried 3 times and she wasn’t home. One day we felt prompted to go there and she was home! Coming out of her garage. We taught her the restoration right there on her driveway and she accepted a book of mormon. A few days later we taught her another lesson. A few days after that she came confidently strolling into church! She was so ready to receive us. God LED us to her
Talking to everyone! We had to go get our oil changed for our car. Long story short it took way longer than expected and we met Saul. He listened to us and I felt inspired to share a scripture with him. He said,” can I have a pen?” He then circled the scripture I read to him and expressed to me that’s what he needed. It made my whole day. He was placed in our path! If our car didn’t have any issues we would have never met Saul. We also met a girl named Savannah because we talked to her as she got her mail!
BIGGEST MIRACLE of them all! Aaron. We had about 30 minutes left in the night and we didn’t know if we should go to this ward activity or not. We prayed and the answer was a very clear YES! Sister Jackson went off and talked to people and so did I. There was this boy sitting on a rock not talking to anyone so I went to introduce myself. “Hi I’m Sister Howick. “Long pause “Sister???” I very shortly into the conversation realized he is not a member. We had an awesome conversation and it led right to the Book of Mormon. I was able to teach and testify to him one on one. It was truly amazing. After we talked he asked, ” can I order that book on Amazon?” Of course I gave it to him 🙂 he wanted it so bad he was going to order himself one. That’s the reason I was supposed to be there that night. I couldn’t wait to tell my comp we just found a friend! This is the true miracle though… We gave him mom a call a few nights later and she was so thankful for us. She said you are so welcome to come back into my home and teach us more, I have 6 kids who would also like to join! What! We have the potential to teach this family! Ahhh!
This week has had a few bumps. We have been teaching a recent convert named Laura. We’ll sister Jackson and I had the WORST lesson ever with her. We brought a member with us who fed into the negativity and bashed on our church. We were heart broken. That being said I just want to say how important member work is! We could not be successful missionaries without members. I encourage all of you to seek an opportunity to share the gospel this week.
Lastly we had another exchange. I got to stay here in Star with sister Evans. It was a hard exchange! Boy everything that could go wrong did. However we were able to learn and grow together. I was able to share a scripture story with her and be an answer to her prayers. God gave me that story because I know I couldn’t have done it on my own. The exchange was hard because we got very badly bashed. This is only the second time on my mission this has happened to me. I was able to very respectfully but promptly end the bash. I felt so bad for sister Evans, she was so bummed! I am truly sad for these people and I truly love them. I hope that someday they will be able to come to know that God loves them.
These are just a few of the many miracles I saw this week. I know that God is in the details of each of our lives. I know that he loves us and with stretch us so we can become better. I know that fasting and prayer leads to miracles, I have witnessed it this week.

Love you all
