Hello everyone! The last two weeks have been a crazy adventure! To begin this wild ride we had Zone conference. This is one of my favorite meetings I go to as a missionary. I love seeing all the missionaries and learning with them. We focused on the importance of following the spirit. The zone leadership was asked to give a training for our zone. It went really well! I’m grateful when they are over though lol.
The last two weeks have been packed full of lessons. These lessons were not just the easy lessons though. We met with a number of people who have fallen away from the church and with people who don’t even know if there is a God. These lessons are hard because you have to listen to the spirit to know what to say. Just yesterday we were teaching a man who is very passionate about religion and his friend Amy. A few minutes into the lesson we recognized that Amy was struggling with something. I felt prompted to talk about the promise of rest President Nelson gave us in his last general conference talk. Before I even finished my thought she began to cry. She simply said YES. This was a moment I needed. I knew God gave me those words and that I was able to tell her what she needed to hear.
The TEMPLE! I have had 3 opportunities to attend the temple this week! The first one was a recent convert got to do baptisms for the first time. I haven’t done baptisms in awhile! It was a lot of fun. 2nd was our temple p-day…we got to do an endowment session as a district. I prayed before we went in that I would feel peace. The temple worker told us that we could go look at the artwork because we were there early. As we walked the halls of the temple I felt so much peace. My anxieties left me completely as I was in the temple. After the endowment session I had a chance to ponder for a few minutes. Tears rolled down my face. I know God is with us and that He hears us. He understands us and knows exactly what to do to help us. Lastly, I got to go to a live sealing for one of Sister Oliphant’s friends! Wow, it was one of the most powerful moments this week. The spirit was very strong. There was so much love in that room.
Driver! I did a lot of driving this week for other Sisters in our zone. I can say that I am getting much better at driving here. Along with the long trips and the wasted miles I got to go on 2 exchanges. One in Emmett with sister Tapia and one here with sister Woodhouse. I loved being in Emmett because it reminds me of home. We got to drive a beautiful canyon to get to a service project and I was just full. I needed that beautiful drive and day in Emmett. I also got to practice some Spanish! I could share my testimony by the time I left.. I already forgot though. Sister Woodhouse has also had a very hard transfer. We were able to work great together and enjoy the small moments together.
INTERVIEWS! I love the opportunity I get each transfer to talk to my mission president. In my interview he gave me a lot of confidence, peace and excitement. He said there are big things coming for me. Right now I am needed to train more STLs and help rebuild the star zone. I will be staying here for at least one more transfer! Yay! Star is my longest area 🙂 My new comp is Sister Erickson and I’m so excited to pick her up tomorrow! One of the 1st things we get to do together is attend Aurora’s baptism. I couldn’t be more excited.
Love you all! Thank you for all of your love! Have a great week.
