Happy new year! 4 Transfers left already! Hello family and friends! This week has been quite an adventure
EXCHANGES! I got to go on an exchange this week with a sister who came out with me. We had SO much fun together. We also worked super hard together. It was amazing! On our first visit we found a new friend to teach who I’m drawn to. Her name is Lucianna! Sister Fa’oa’otoa asked all the perfect questions that then allowed me to invite Lucianna to join us. I was then given the words to teach her. We enjoyed serving at the foodbank together and then had l one of the most powerful member visits in a long time.
Communication is key . This week I had a very amazing and touching conversation with my companion. I love her! I have learned the importance of communicating openly and honestly. This is something that was very hard for me before my mission but I through God’s help have been able to learn a lot. I have learned how to better communicate with people but I have most importantly learned how to communicate with God. He really will give you the right words to say at all times.
It doesn’t ALWAYS go as planned. This week I had the opportunity to talk in church again. We were really crunched for time and had no clue how to make my thoughts work. I got up to the microphone and just prayed. Well.. I can definitely say it was a bit rough! However, I know that the spirit was with me because it did work out. The relief society president said, ” It was right to the point” haha idk if that’s a good thing or a bad thing.
TRANSFERS! I can definitely say that my testimony has been strengthened this week. I have been preparing all week for the transfer board drop.. Well on Saturday we got a call from our mission president. He told me that he realized I have been here in this area for a very long time but that he needs me here. Being an STL is very demanding and can be a challenge for some missionaries. That being said, he needs me here to train a brand new STL. I was not expecting that call. I have a lot of peace though. Sister Fa’oa’otoa told me that Lucianna was drawn to me and that I have unfinished business here. I can’t wait to see what the next 6 weeks bring!
Love Sister Howick
