What a week! I honestly don’t even know how to begin this email…. If I could describe the week in 5 words they would be: Crazy, Inspiring, Exhausting, Powerful and Fun!
We began our week with one last transfer planning in president Maxwell’s basement. This was actually a cool experience because I got to witness our president receive revelation for our mission. It truly all does come together and the concerns we had were resolved with peace. After that meeting I got to take our last STL out on an exchange. I took Sister Woodhouse and stayed here in Nampa. We had an AWESOME exchange! We found 2 new friends together. One was the old grandma Judy’s grandson. We knocked on the door and Michael answered and said they don’t have time. I said, “Do you really not have 10 minutes?” lol they let us in and we had an amazing 1st lesson! They now want to learn more. The phrase Judy said was, “ This resonates with me, you speak with such brightness!”
MISSION TOUR WITH ELDER WONG! This week was a very memorable week and one that I probably won’t forget. Elder Wong came to our mission on Tuesday and left on Friday. President and Sister Maxwell, the AP’s and My companion and I got to eat lunch with Elder and Sister Wong on Wednesday. What a special opportunity! He asked us all questions and gave us all time to talk. We got the chance to share experiences with him and talk about ways we can help the rest of the missionaries. HIS CONFERENCES were outstanding!!! He had all the missionaries participate and be super interactive. He even played spike ball as part of an object lesson! Never did I ever think I would witness a general authority play spike ball at a zone conference. Elder Wong said a few phrases that really stood out to me.
“Time is running out.”
“ What are you willing to sacrifice”
“ If that’s what you want, that’s what it will cost you”
“WHEN” When will you do what you keep saying you will.
Overall these were very inspiring conferences. MEMBERS are missionaries and we couldn’t do this work without them! See what you can do this week to share the gospel! My companion and I gained a good relationship with Elder Wong as we participated and read scriptures to the point that he had us lead a group activity in our last conference. It was such an honor to do that.
9 NEW FRIENDS! With the Mission tour we were extremely busy! We were not able to be in our area very much at all this week. Let me be the first to say that god is a god of miracles. He provided for us in the time that we did have. We found a family who is so ready to accept the gospel and then 3 other individuals. Our friends that are already progressing are preparing for baptism. God is working miracles every day!
Lastly KASSIE! Kassie was baptized on Saturday. There was such a great turnout, a lot of her non-member friends and family came to support her. The spirit that attended the baptism was so powerful and touched many of them. While Kassie was changing we felt prompted to share the restoration in about 5 minutes. Kassie bore her testimony at the end and it brought me to tears. She was so ready and so prepared to enter into the waters of baptism. At the end we had a chance to introduce ourselves to all of her nonmember family. Her brother was so touched by her baptism that he now wants to learn more! He came to church with Kassie! We will be teaching her whole family tonight.
