WHAT a WEEK! This last week was the last week of transfer sooo that means lots of transfer planning! Over the course of two days we spent hours and hours in our mission president’s basement. Lots of prayer and a lot of different ideas were presented. Sadly we just don’t have enough missionaries in our mission right now. We are only gaining 3 and we lost 16! The poor missionaries are covering so many wards! I have such a testimony that the Lord puts his missionaries where he needs them. It is so cool to feel at peace when we finally get it right.
TREVIN LAUIRE AND KASSIE! As always I have to update you all on this wonderful family. They beam with excitement as their baptism approaches. They moved their date up to May 13th! They are counting down by the hour it seems! They are such an example to me, Trevin invited his friend Able to join us for a lesson. Able was such a miracle! About one month ago Sister Fa’ao’otoa and I saw this kid walking down the road. He was boppin to some loud music and was walking with quite the groove. So as sister missionaries do… I ran down the street yelling at him to try and get his attention. When we did, he said yes to the message. Since then we couldn’t get in contact with him. Well… that just so happened to be Able Trevins best friend! There truly are no coincidences when God is in charge. Able has now had two lessons with us and is really enjoying them! What a cool experience! It’s amazing to see how many peoples lives are changing all because Kassie had the desire to know for herself what was the true church.
Makayla and Thomas! They are two more of our YSA friends! I decided to fast and pray extra for these two in particular yesterday. I was fasting for their progression. Thomas told us that he does have the desire to get baptized! Makayla is a college soccer player and full time student… SO BUSY so I fasted that we could have consistent lessons. Well guess what!? Last night she texted us and said she is ready to have lessons again and that her schedule was freeing up with it being summer time! I know that God hears and answers our prayer and that fasting truly is an opportunity to show love to God.
NAMPA 5th ward… oh boy where do I even begin. I am writing this so we can all have a good laugh together! The 5th ward is such a hard ward for us as missionaries. Don’t get me wrong, it has good people in it… but something just can’t click. They really don’t love missionary work and they don’t know why it’s important. We had our weekly missionary meeting for the second time since I have been here and they were so upset about the new meal policy in the mission. After my companion and I made it to the car she busted out laughing! She said I’m so grateful for you! You held it down in such a Christlike way in there! She said you just simply bore testimony on the miracles you have seen and why we listen to our mission president. SO whenever you dont know what to do…. Testify!
Service!! We got to serve in a family service center this week! With the assignment we have it can be very difficult to fit in service( even though we love it). We were so thankful for this opportunity this week. We organized a few different storage rooms for them!
Tomorrow I will drop off Sister Fa’aoot’oa at transfer spots and she will head to Oregan! I will then pick up my new companion Sister Burton! We will then be busy with departures and arrivals. It’s always so much fun to pick the new missionaries. I love you all! Have the best week!
