What a CRAZY week! This week we had transfers and I picked up my new companion! Sister Burton! She is the cutest ever, so outgoing and so ready to serve the mission and this area with me! She is from Florida and has been out 1 year. As some of you already know transfer week is INSANE in this assignment! When I picked Sister Burton up I looked over to her and said,” Here we GO!” We then helped all of the missionaries get situated for transfers. We enjoyed being a part of departures and arrivals. Only one sister missionary flew into the mission this time… so we got to go to the airport without the APs. That was a lot of fun.. minus the parking nightmare every time! We did in fact run through the airport to make it on time lol. The rest of the day we got to do orientation with the new missionaries and take them out for their first time! Then the next day we got to train the trainers and send them off! They are super excited to be in this mission! Those first few days are so full of fun, stress and chaos but I always enjoy them!
Even with all of the mission meetings and things we got to be a part of this week we had SUCH A MIRACLE FILLED week! Our friends are truly progressing! Makayla wrapped up her soccer season and her finals so we were able to meet with her for the first time in a few weeks. She is the definition of elect! We re-taught the restoration and she had so many questions about baptism!!!!! JIMMY! Jimmy has had some hard weeks and hasn’t been in great contact with us. We felt like we should go by but he didn’t answer… the spirit prompted us to knock on one more door in his apartment complex. We did and while we were at the door Jimmy pulled up! We were able to catch him at the perfect time and offer our love and support! So glad we knocked just one more door! NIA! Nia is in our sweet little Tongan branch. Her sisters have joined the church in the last few years but it has been a hard journey for her because her father is a pastor for another church. We have had a few powerful lessons with her and she knows this gospel is true! She is ready to commit, it’s just a matter of when. The last few weeks have been so hard to get intouch with her but…. We prayed to know where we should go and it was very clear NIA. When we pulled up they were out front eating and playing volleyball! The entire family was there and we were able to have an amazing conversation and invite them to church!!!! Lastly, our friend ABEL! Abel is Trevins best friend who decided to join us for a lesson. He is loving learning about it! He is meeting with us twice a week, came to the baptism and even came to church! Truly goes to show how powerful a simple invitation can be. This was a crazy week but I know that this is God’s work and He is a God of miracles. He loves his children so much and is helping them find the gospel. Last night we were grinding so hard trying to find a new friend to teach. We only had one hour left in the week and we still haven’t found someone. We prayed with faith and were led to the name Chase. Knocked on the door and met Jennifer! We had a 20 minute conversation with Jennifer, Chase’s wife, who is a non-member. We left her with a scripture and she invited us back into her home! God knows where His children are and it was so special to see our faithful prayers and hard work pay off last minute!
TREVIN AND LAURIE’S BAPTISM!mThis last Saturday I got to witness my dear friends enter into the waters of baptism and make their first covenant with God! Trevin and Laurie were truly a miracle sent to us! Kassie( Our recent convert on March 25th) Laurie’s daughter set the trend for this entire family. On her baptism day her family came to support her and were deeply touched by the spirit! After her baptism we were able to teach and testify to them and they invited us into their home! We then got to teach them all of the missionary lessons and invite them to be baptized! I have NEVER seen the Atonement of Jesus Christ change someone as it changed Trevin. He truly is a new person in Christ! Part way through teaching them we introduced them to the Elders so they could help them be properly fellowshiped into their homeward and so they could support Trevin. It was amazing to see their testimonies also influence this family. In about 6 weeks we saw this family’s life change forever! I am truly honored to have been the missionary to be there for their journey!
Love you all so much!
